Western World. Western World marked the band’s inaugural recording. Though Falling August had recorded numerous live shows and informal studio sessions, Western World was the first formal effort. Recorded in the damp basement of Aging Teen Idol Jon Golden, the album featured only six songs.

King of the Western World (3:19)
Towers of Denmark (2:33)
Nothing Like Today (3:54)
Stones (3:37)
1001 Nights (3:11)
Underneath the Big Sky (3:24)

It is worth noting that the title track became a finalist in the 1991 ASCAP Boston Songwriting Workshop.

Interestingly, the cover art for Western World (at right) was created by “Jack Drag” frontman John Dragonetti, who went on to do a big studio album for A&M in 1998. Dragonetti has since composed music for numerous commercials, working with brands such as Volkswagen and Coca-Cola.

All songs written and arranged by Falling August. Recorded and engineered at Roundwood Road Studios by Jon Golden; "Underneath the Big Sky" recorded at Blue Stone Studios by Chuck Latta. Copyright 1988, 1989, 1990 Falling August.
