Ends of the Earth. The band’s second recording, Ends of the Earth, was ostensibly its first professional studio work. Recorded by Rob Lehman and the multi-talented Dave Westner at Oak Grove Studios in scenic Malden, Mass., Ends of the Earth featured only six tracks, but—for some reason—took three months to record.

Northern Border (3:19)
Ten, Nine, Eight (2:33)
Voices Down (3:54)
Turn it Around (3:37)
Ransom Jenny (3:11)
Hunter's Song (3:24)

Ends of the Earth was also the first Falling August recording to feature the band in its full glory, with Charlie Pallone on drums and Bobby Henline on bass. Previously, the band traveled with Ephraim Lessell on bass, and no percussion whatsoever.

Cover art for Ends of the Earth (at right) was done by Dave Allen, the brilliant illustrator who went on to do television work before disappearing off the face of the earth.

All words and music by Falling August. All songs copyright 1990, 1991 Falling August. Recorded at Oak Grove Studios, Malden, Mass., Dec. 1991 to Feb. 1992. Rob Lehman, engineer; Dave Westner, assistant engineer.
