Falling August. Considered one of the most underrated (or simply ignored) bands in America, Falling August was an acoustic folk-rock outfit that haunted the Boston music scene from 1990 to 1994.

Described as “Celtic alternative folk funk pop,” the band was both heralded as “a brilliant group of songwriters and storytellers,” and dismissed as “The Indigo Guys.”

Formed at Brandeis University in the late ‘80s, the band spent several years playing at some of Boston's most celebrated music clubs, headlining and opening for major local and national acts, from the Gigolo Aunts to Jacob Dylan and the Wallflowers.

At the request of, well, nobody, this website was created as the final resting place of Falling August. History, photos and recordings are available from the column at left.
